Pic(k) of the week 27: DARK CLOUDS OVER BRUSSELS
I love the drama of stormy skies and how weather phenomena often provides us with some great photographic opportunities. The other day, I was sitting in the passenger seat while driving to Brussels, when we passed a very active squall line.
It once again shows how important it is to always have a camera with you when you want to call yourselves a "photographer". Yes, we pretty much always have our camera phones with us but having a compact camera to capture these unexpected moments, often makes it much more valuable.
Although the image was shot in colour, it is very much a monotone image. Years ago, I witnessed how the sky turned eerie green when an active tornado hit the Sun 'n Fun airshow, I attended in central Florida (US). Although not to the same extend, the scene below reminded me of the event. The bird in the frame, adds a little bit of scale to the image.
