Pic(k) of the week 11: A CONTEMPLATIVE LOOK AT KHOR FAKKAN

The city of Khor Fakkan on the East coast of the UAE and part of the Emirate of Sharjah, has lately done a lot of development under the East coast revitalization project. It is not necessarily a place I would recommend tourists to stay for a weeklong holiday but is a good getaway for people visiting from the bigger cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

About 90min to the East of downtown Dubai, this east-coast city has recently extended their existing promenade with the "New Khor Fakkan corniche". It has a variety of restaurants, coffee shops and small shops and is a nice place to wonder around.

Image details:
  • Fujifilm X-E4 with XF70-300 lens
  • ISO 320, f10, 1/1250s, 188mm
  • In camera jpeg using Acros+Y film simulation shot on 4:3 aspect ratio
Although I shot other images in this series, I eventually went with this one, which hides a bit more on the right side of the frame. Leaving a bit of mystery in Contemplative photography is often I must for me.

On the subject of Contemplative photography, I recommend checking out Valerie Jardin's new eBook "Introduction to Contemplative photography".  Worth the 10, -USD!
