Pic(k) of the week 46: It's better in the Bahamas

Those of you who follow Bjorn Moerman Photography on Facebook and Google+, have probably seen quite a bit of recent aerial photography from the Bahamas! Yes, I'm on a 2 week flying trip to South Florida and the Bahamas... flying a single engine Cessna C172 over amazing scenery! As I'm writing this Pic(k) of the week, it is our last evening in the Bahamas. Earlier this afternoon we landed at Bimini, one of the smallest and also the closest Bahamian island to the US mainland. Tomorrow we will be heading back to Florida where our trusted flying machine needs to go back to its owner! A brief three day visit to New York and we will be back in Dubai...

2011 Pic(k) of the week 46: It is better in the Bahamas
The image above was taken today over the Exumas, a district of the Bahamas consisting of 360 mini islands or "cays". The crystal blue waters are just out of this world! Paradise for aerial photography or as they say over here: "It's better in the Bahamas!"

Image details:
Nikon D700 with 70-200 2.8 VR
ISO200, 185mm, f3.5, 1/4000s
RAW development with Lightroom 3

I shot well over 1000 images on the trip and will no doubt allocate a few blogposts to the recent flying-photography adventure, in the near future. Needless to say, processing will take some time.

Till next time,
Fly safe, shoot good,

BJORN
