New Nikkor 14-24mm 2.8 lens
Just came home with a brand new Nikkor 14-24 2.8 lens from Hong Kong.
Since my upgrade to the full frame (35mm) Nikon D700 camera body, I was missing an Ultra wide angle lens. On my cropped sensor D200, I used the very good third party Sigma 10-20mm lens which unfortunately doesn't work on a full frame camera.
Lens experts seem to be very happy with the new 14-24 2.8 Nikkor glass. Quite a few call it the best Wide angle lens ever! It doesn't come cheap at about 1900$ (USD), but is worth every cent.
On the way back to the hotel, I made a couple of shots and so far I'm very happy with it. At 14mm one has to be careful not to have his/her own feet in the picture, as shown on the image below...
