Pic(k) of the week 43: The Presidents birthplace
Yesterday I spent the afternoon at the Al Muwaiji fort ( Qasr al Muwaiji in arabic) in Al Ain, U.A.E.. I was there for a client shooting architectural images of a brand new glass structure inside the fort, which will be used as a heritage museum. Some of the images will be available on the site in a weeks time.
Interesting enough, the fort is the place of birth of the President of the UAE, Sheik Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
At the front entrance, I shot this HDR ( High Dynamic Range ) image of the fort and its reflection in the adjacent pool.
Image details:
Nikon D700 with Nikkor 14-24 2,8 lens
ISO 200, f4.5, 24mm, 3 varying shutter speeds for the HDR exposure
Raw development in LR3
SilverEfex 2 for Black and White conversion
I like to finish with the following quote of world famous photographer Robert Frank:
"Black and white are the colors of photography. To me they symbolize the alternatives of hope and despair to which mankind is forever subjected."
